Frequently Asked Questions

How do I establish a coaching relationship with the Rebound Coach?

To discuss the possibility of establishing a coaching relationship today send Dr. Liz an email and let's talk!

How does Coaching occur?
Coaches generally work with their clients over the phone three times a month for half-hour calls. Of course there are deviations to this model (E-MAIL COACHING) but this is the one most coaches use.

How will I know if Coaching is a worthwhile investment for me?
The truth is you will not know until you try coaching yourself for 30 days. By the end of that time it will be clear to you whether coaching is incredibly worthwhile or not.

If you want to give it a try, the financial risk to you is pretty low. Some coaches require long term commitments or ask for big bucks. I don't. So if your investment fails to pay dividends immediately. Just stop. It's as simple as that.

Ask yourself, "what might it cost me or my business not to have a coach right now?"

What's the difference between Coaching and Therapy?
Coaching focuses on the present and the future whereas therapy focuses primarily on the past.

Coaching works with an already successful, functional person who wants to move toward higher function and achieve excellence, while creating an extraordinary life and therapy may not.

In Coaching, through a process of inquiry and personal discovery, coach and client work together to build client's awareness and responsibility while providing feedback, tools, support and structure to accomplish more.

Therapy provides a space for the client to gain insight, work on suppressed emotions, and re-evaluate their defenses. The client recognizes irrational beliefs, and learns the skills to minimize symptoms and live healthier lives.

Coaching holds no geographic boundaries. Therapy can only be practiced in the state that the therapist and client reside.

Is coaching a form of therapy?
No…Coaching does not treat diagnosis and it works directly with the clients' goals whereas therapy works from an illness model and it treats diagnosis.

Why does coaching work?
By hiring a coach, you invest in yourself and "put your money where your mouth is." You stop talking the talk and begin walking the walk. You begin to live your life in a more thoughtful and deliberate manner. Procrastination and self sabotage stops and progress begins. You ACHIEVE your goals!

What happens when you hire a coach?
You take yourself more seriously.
You take effective and focused actions immediately.
You stop putting up with what drags you down.
You create momentum so that it's easier to get results.
You set bigger and better goals.
You are more likely to REBOUND from the things holding you down in the past.

Who is coaching for?
Coaching is for motivated, happy individuals who see the value in having a confidential partner to challenge them to even greater levels of success, make better decisions in the personal or professional lives with aim of ultimately achieving a greater quality of life.

What is Life Coaching anyway?
Coaching is a relationship between client and coach which is based upon confidentiality, trust, integrity as well as mutual respect and accountability. The purpose of the relationship is to deepen the clients learning about the issues at hand and also to forward their action thereby allowing them to accomplish their interests much faster than they would on their own.

The coaching process is interactive and is stimulated by questions assisting the client to think more clearly and deeply and gain understanding or a new perspective.

Professional coaches are trained to listen and observe not only what the client is saying but also what is left unsaid. Through powerful questions and provocative discussions, the coach brings forth practical strategies and solutions from the client. The client is naturally creative, resourceful and whole. It's the coach's job to provide support and encouragement to enhance what the client has and is.

While the coach provides feedback and an objective perspective, it is the client's responsibility to take steps to achieve the desired results.

Why do people hire a coach?
People hire a coach for various reasons. The most common reasons are that they want more of something in their lives, they want to grow and improve themselves, and they want their lives to work better and easier. That's all there is to it really. A coach helps you get all three quickly!
